With winning, there comes a certain attitude around a clubhouse. Some people call it swagger, while others might refer to it as confidence.
Sometimes when you’re winning, it seems as though everything tends to go in your favor. Whether it be a call that goes your way, or a ground ball that takes a friendly bounce – when you’re winning, there is a reason for it.
Well apparently same thing goes for streakers as well, or at least that’s how Rays Manager Joe Maddon looks at it.
“It’s always a sign of having made it, in a sense, when you start getting streakers or semi-streakers during a game,” Maddon said. “I don’t think they streak at last-place teams’ games.”
In a game against the Mariners on Saturday, a fan ran onto the field in St. Petersburg, obviously giving Maddon that extra boost of confidence that it takes to build a winner.
And while he does have a point, (I mean, who would streak at a Pirates game?) I really don’t see the good in Maddon taking light of a situation that has started to become a problem in MLB. All these dumb f**ks that continue to run onto the field during games are going to end up ruining the experience for everyone.
The best thing about a baseball game is the fact that you get the feel of being right next to the players. It might not be quite as intimate as basketball games, but the outdoor feeling adds to the overall experience as well. The last thing I want is for MLB to feel the need to put up barriers like they do in many European football leagues, to keep fans from running onto the field.
As wrong as some people might think it is to taser people during games, if that’s what it takes to keep these cock suckers off the field, then tase away.

Someone should tell Joe what a streaker is.
Someone should taze you
