In Tribute: Harmon Killebrew vs. Mickey Mantle, Classic Home Run Derby [Video]

Today we received the bad news that Harmon Killebrew is not winning his battle with esophageal cancer.

He is now headed to hospice care, where he will spend what is expected to be his last days with his family.

Harmon Killebrew was a great teammate, an amazingly consistent power hitter and still is an icon in Minnesota. I won’t bore with his accomplishments – if you don’t know then what the hell are you doing here?

When I was about 10 years old, I used to send letters to baseball legends asking for their autograph. Killebrew always returned my requests. I think I have 6 of them.
