Please Trade Carmelo Anthony Now

Please Trade Carmelo Anthony NowThis Thursday the 24th at 3 pm is the NBA trade deadline, and like Bart Scott, I can’t wait.

For it to be over.

Because I am sick and f**king tired of hearing about Carmelo Anthony. I’m not sure when it happened, but Anthony seemingly overnight became the most sought-after commodity in the NBA.

Have you seen these INSANE trade proposals??

I know in the NBA, trades seldom work out even-Steven talent wise. They are ruled by salary implications because of the vast and intricate salary cap rules. These trade offers feel different though.

The Nets are supposedly offering the Nuggets, not only their two best young players in rookie Derrick Favors and the world’s World’s Fastest Dribbling Man, Devin Harris, but also their next FOUR first round draft picks.

In this scenario, the Nuggets would part ways with Melo, 57-year-old Chauncey Billups, and some pine-riders that no one has heard of.

The Knicks, who have been a laughingstock for most of their existence, are truly trying to outdo themselves this year. The word on the street is that Isiah Thomas is still running things in the Garden.

The Knicks trade proposal has Zeke’s prairie fire fingerprints all over it. They are rumored to be offering PG Raymond Felton, Fs Danilo Gallinari and Wilson Chandler, and a 1st round pick for Anthony and the ghost of Chauncey Billups. All three are young, solid starters on a much improved Knick team.

All of this for a player who has made 4 All-Star games in 8 years (and one of those as an injury replacement).

Anthony has a career PER of 20.21, which grades out as a “borderline All-Star”, and puts him just above the mighty Larry Foust and below such stalwarts as Vince Carter, John Drew, and Elton Brand.

Also, his playoff performances aren’t anything of note. His averages stay about the same, and his teams are 16-30 in the playoffs, advancing past the 1st round once.

Anthony is a very talented scorer, but that’s about it. He isn’t known as a rebounder, and is better known for defending “snitches getting’ stitches,” instead of an opposing player.

Don’t forget about his scrape with the foot-shorter Nate Robinson. If I’m the Nuggets, I pull the trigger YESTERDAY.

Load up on draft picks and young talent while shedding a guy with questionable heart and desire.

As I write this, the Twittersphere is alit with a rumor that a deal with the Knicks is all but done.

Who would you rather have, Knicks fans-young hungry guys, or someone that runs from dwarves in fight?

Too bad ownership doesn’t care what you want.
