Tomoaki Kanemoto Ends Consecutive Inning Streak, Jersey Headed To Cooperstown

Tomoaki Kanemoto Ends Consecutive Inning Streak, Jersey Headed To CooperstownThe “Iron Man” of Japan, Tomoaki Kanemoto, ended one of the most amazing streaks in all of sports.

Many of you know Cal Ripken as “Iron Man” for his streak of consecutive games record (2,632 games). Tomoaki Kanemoto, while “only” having played in 1,492 consecutive games, has never missed an inning.

During Ripken’s streak he played 903 consecutive innings.

Tomoaki Kanemoto’s streak began in July, 21, 1999. What were you doing in 1999?

With as amazing as Ripken’s achievement is, Kanemoto’s has to be seen as just as difficult to break.

The uniform, cleats and hat that Kanemoto wore during his 1,492nd game will be enshrined into the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY.
