Is Today The Greatest Day in Sports?

It doesn’t get much better than this.

As a sports fan, you couldn’t really ask for more than to have two of the biggest events of the sports year occur on the same exact day. Depending on how you feel about Major League Baseball and College Basketball, today could without a doubt be considered the greatest day in sports.

Not only will we get the awesomeness of Opening Day (F**k last night, today is the “real” Opening Day), but we will also get the conclusion of the most exciting tournament in sports when Duke faces off against Butler tonight in the National Championship. I know I’m not the only one that feels this way.  It’s no coincidence that Mike and Mike are releasing their new book tomorrow.

But with keeping all of this in mind, do you consider today as being the “Greatest Day in Sports”? 

As a huge fan of baseball, I have to think it is. Every team has a chance at winning the World Series today.  And even though this could change by the 2nd inning (Thanks Harang), it is impossible to go into today in a bad mood, even if it is a Monday.

So for everyone that called off work today, crack open a beer, feel optimistic about your baseball team, and enjoy today for what it is. Because it only comes around once a year.
