Ok, so everyone is perfectly aware that the team the USA put together for the FIBA World Championships was going to be a B Squad. With players like Kobe, Wade, Ass-F**k, and many others opting to sit out and enjoy their time off, it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that Team USA would struggle against some of the more talented International teams. But Brazil??
No way should a team which is still full of NBA All Stars be anywhere near a close game with a team like Brazil. One of Brazil’s best players is Anderson “Flop worse than a soccer player” Varejeo, and he wasn’t even playing due to a sprained ankle. The fact that Team USA was only able to win by 2, which at first got me excited thinking that we beat them in Soccer, proves that they are not going to easily walk away with a championship. And honestly, this shouldn’t be a surprise seeing as how they haven’t won the World Championships in 16 years.
Kevin Durant led team USA with 27 points, as it appears he is the only one capable of doing anything against International competition. The 70-68 victory gave Team USA a 3-0 record in group play, but if they plan on proving an All NBA B-squad can win the World Championships, they still have a ton of work to do.
