South African Commish Bheki Cele Would Like To Avoid Obama World Cup Visit
South African Police Commissioner Bheki Cele is not holding back when it comes to his thoughts on the World Cup, and whether or not he is rooting for the United States.
Plain and simple – he hopes they lose…early.
Cele told reporters that he would like the United States to lose in the first round in hopes that it will reduce the needed security for President Barack Obama.
He said he had provisional confirmation that 43 heads of state would go to the World Cup, and “those 43 will be equal to this one operation” if Obama made the trip.
From AP:
“One challenge is the American president, who is coming, not coming, coming, not coming,” Cele said. “It’s 50-50 as we stand. … Our famous prayer is that the Americans don’t make the second round. They get eliminated and they go home.”
Cele then paused and said, “Don’t print that,” to laughter from the audience that included members of parliament and police officials.
“We are told if they go to the second or third stage, the American president might come,” Cele said. “It’s one big challenge that we will be facing.”
There is a lot to be taken from these remarks. Is he really saying that the U.S. president is by far and away the most hated (the biggest target) leader of all? Or is it just America’s security expectations and demands are just that much higher?

Are u sure thats not Danny Glover? I’m gettin’ too old for this s**t!!!!
The USA is in a pretty easy bracket this year. I think this guy will be disappointed.
With Bheki Cele as the police commissioner i dont feel safe, i feel even more terrorised. His trigger-happy cops have gone on rampage shooting innocent civilians, a blackmans life is still worth less than that of his white counter-part, its easy for a black cop to shoot down a black suspect. Being a suspect is now a crime punishable by death. These police have become enemies of the communities that they are hired to protect.
