Shaun Rogers Brings Loaded Weapon Into Airport, Gets Arrested

It’s amazing what some players will do to get away from Cleveland. 

Donte Stallworth killed a man.

LeCharles Bentley almost had his leg amputated (OK, that wasn’t really his doing).

Josh Cribbs obviously has a lot to learn.

The latest NFL player to find himself square in Roger Goodell’s crosshairs is Browns defensive tackle Shaun Rogers.

Rogers, who had been at the team’s suburban training facility in recent days, was stopped at a security checkpoint when officials spotted a loaded .45-caliber hand gun in his carry-on luggage, police said in a statement. He was arrested at 12:15 p.m. without incident and was booked for carrying a concealed weapon, a third-degree felony.

Here we have a 400-pound, strong as a bull, mean-looking, freakishly athletic giant of a man, who finds it necessary to protect himself from god-knows-what, by bringing a loaded .45 onto an airplane. 

What the f**k could he possibly be thinking?!?!!  (count to ten……….)

I’M NOT CALM YET.  WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU, SHAUN ROGERS?!?!?!?!?!

I’m sure there’s a perfectly sensible explanation that will be delivered by highly-paid professionals and we’ll all move along, but, AN AIRPORT?!?!

If there’s one place everyone knows you can’t f**k around it’s the airport.  Can you fathom the national fervor that would be engulfing the nation if his name was Abdul Maleek or Mutaaqi Ali?

If charged, he would be facing a 3rd degree felony, with sentences ranging anywhere from probation to 5 years of prison.  If Plaxico got prison for what he did, my money’s on Big Baby spending a little time in the pokey. 

That’s if he did it, of course.

On the bright side for the Browns, there’s surely a clause in his contract that covers this kinds of nonsense.  They’re off the hook if they wanted to be. 

Rogers is a very good player and from a personnel perspective, this is huge blow to a team that already sucked.
