Will Roethlisberger Still Have A Starting Job After Week 4?

Will Roethlisberger Still Have A Starting Job After Week 4?When Roethlisberger’s original 6 game suspension – 4 games for good behavior – came about,  most people anticipated that after week 4, Roethlisberger would be jumping right into his previous title of starting quarterback. With back-ups like Byron Leftwich, Dennis Dixon, and Charlie Batch, you figure even ole grey dick himself had to feel a glimpse of confidence.

But now that we are just a week from the start of the NFL regular season, and Dennis Dixon has been named the starter for week 1 after Leftwich’s injury, is Roethlisberger’s starting job as in-tact as previously thought?

It’s no surprise that coach Mike Tomlin likes Dennis Dixon. He is a guy that he drafted, and he has watched him develop into what seems to be a pretty decent quarterback from the little bit of preseason Steelers games I have unfortunately had to watch. Roethlisberger, on the other hand, has just made Tomlin look bad, as if he can’t control his team. Not being on your coaches good side is not necessarily a good thing, and Tomlin’s comments from today seemed to have the same tone.

When asked if Roethlisberger would be the starter after week 4, Tomlin said, “”I’m not going to back myself in a corner.” Which to me, basically sounds like he doesn’t want to commit to Roethlisberger. And why would he? What if Dixon starts off 4-0?

It also doesn’t appear that Roethlisberger has much love from the teammates either. After being captain the past couple years, Ben was not picked to be one in 2010, as the Steelers instead chose Hines Ward and Heath Miller. And I’m not saying this should come as a surprise – why the f**k would anyone pick this (alleged) rapist as a captain? Even meathead NFL players don’t dig dudes that (allegedly) rape chicks. Anyone that has to rape a woman is nothing but a low-life piece of s**t, and this includes scumbags that think just because they are who they are, they can do whatever the f**k they want.

So who exactly wants Ben to come back as a starter? The fans? Do Steelers fans really want this guy to come back and be their starting quarterback? They have to, right? That would have to be the only reasonable explanation as to why he would still be in a Steelers uniform. Because if the coach doesn’t want him, and his teammates don’t want him, then who the hell does?

The reason Steelers fans still want Ben around is because the guy won 2 frickin Super Bowls. Yeah, so we will sell out our soul for a winner, who cares? Ain’t nothin but a bunch of haters round here…
