Rob Dibble is one of those guys that you would probably refer to as a “man’s man”. He has always had that type of cocky, know it all attitude that probably made him a better pitcher.
When I listen to him talk, sometimes it makes me wonder if him and Chris Speilman are long lost brothers or something. Neither of them seem to think woman are good for much other than cooking, cleaning, and shopping – and Dibble showed off his 1930′s way of thinking last night during the National’s broadcast.
“Those ladies right behind there, they haven’t stopped talking the whole game,” Dibble said in the sixth inning. “They have some conversation going on. Right here,” he said, circling the offenders. “There must be a sale tomorrow going on here or something….Their husbands are going man, don’t bring your wife next time.”
Dibble’s counterpart in the broadcast, Bob Carpenter, tried to change the conversation several times throughout the game as Dibble continued to mention these ladies “talking” behind home plate, but he just wouldn’t get off of it.
“All right Bob, now they’re back there, they’re eating ice cream and talking at the same time,” Dibble noted in the top of the eighth.
He continued…
“My wife loves to come to the game, but they’re right there, still talking,” said Dibble
“I was just thinking, those women, there’s a new series Real Housewives of D.C. that just came out, he said. “Maybe they’re filming an episode?”
Although it is rather ridiculous for Dibble to continue to talk about these ladies throughout the game, I do find it funny at how amazed he is that women would even come to a game in general. Women are just as into sports as men are, and they should be treated equally.
But oh well, I just wonder who they had to sleep with in order to get those tickets.

The only time they should speak is to ask me whether I want ice in my highball or not.
i didn’t think rob dibble could beome any more of a douche. thank you for proving me wrong.
You’re wrong about Chris Spielman; he is a true gentleman. He also quit football to take care of his wife and kids while she was suffering from breast cancer. He was even on Oprah. The guy has been a class act his entire career. I challenge you to find one person who has worked with Chris as an athlete or member of media (CBS and ESPN) that has a cross word to say about him. I’ve never once heard him speak negatively about women. As a matter of fact, I’ve heard him make positive comments about Title IX. He does have daughters, too, that I’m sure he thinks the world of. No, Spielman and Dibble are not synonymous, besides being successful professional athletes.
