Pirates Pitcher Chris Jakubauskas Takes A Line Drive To The Head [Video]

This is exactly the reason they use wooden bats.  If Lance Berkman was wielding aluminum I have a feeling we’d be telling a much different story today.

Pirates pitcher Chris Jakubauskas got nailed in the head yesterday in the 1st inning against the Houston Astros.  Lance Berkman hit an incredibly hard line drive right back at Jakubauskas and it hit him square in the head.

The sound of the ball hitting his head is almost nauseating.  And the image of Jakubauskas writhing on the ground is just as harrowing.

Word is that he is OK, though.  Which is awesome news, because this could have been much worse.
