Phoenix Mercury Looking For A Few Good Men [WNBA]

Ever wanted to play for a professional basketball team? I know I have. Well for all you guys down in Arizona, now is your chance.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention it is in the WNBA.

The Phoenix Mercury will be holding tryouts for an all-male practice squad at the end of this month. The team is looking to fill a 15-man roster to scrimmage and train with the team.

If you happen to be one of the “Lucky 15″, you get a free pair of shoes and tickets to all Mercury games.

Head coach Corey Gaines “encourages any man who thinks he is on the same level or even thinks he can outplay the women from the Mercury to put his skills to the test and tryout for the practice team.”

Translation: Come out to prove you’re a man by beating up on a bunch of women on the basketball court.

I know I would not be able to hold back my excitement to come home with my new Mercury shoes and brag to my buddies how I poured 20 on Cappie Pondexter or DeWanna Bonner (I swear that is a real name).

What happens if the girls play these 15 guys and get smoked every practice? <p style=”font: sarcasm;”>That is sure-fire way to boost the confidence of a team that was successful last season. </p>

Let’s look at it from the other perspective. How many guys want to go play ball and get run off the floor by a bunch of women?  The potential for humiliation is unparalleled.  Un-f**king-paralleled.

I think I would rather take a swift kick to the nuts every night. On a good note, attendance should go up by 10-15 people since all the men get free tickets.
