If history has taught us anything, it’s that players who have the most hype coming out of high school are not always the best players for your team.
Usually the more unheralded players stay grounded enough to put in the work, and they don’t rely on just natural talent alone — which is typically enough to make one a high school phenom, but may not be enough to take them to the next level in college.
The coaches have been spending months, even years scouting these and many other players. Thousands of texts have been sent, emails, tweets, Facebooks, phone calls, house visits eating mom’s chili, and an amount of ass-kissing that you or I could never comprehend receiving.
Ultimately, today determines how good your team will be.
