Scott Stapp Records The Worst Song Of All-Time ‘Marlins Will Soar’ [Video]

The Florida Marlins are not a great team. Despite their 87 wins in 2009 Vegas has them listed at 30:1 to win the 2010 World Series.

While they don’t have much going for them they have something on their side that no other team has: the worst anthem of all-time.

That’s because Scott Stapp, lead singer of ‘Creed,’ has recorded one of the worst songs ever converted to ones and zeroes.

In case you are one of the lucky ones who haven’t heard the new Florida Marlins fight song, allow me the disservice of introducing it to you.

During my younger days, I was a fan of Creed (Ed. note: F**k Creed in the ass with a rusty machete! I’ve always hated them more than any other band. EVER!), a band that sold over 35 million records. In a mere 1 minute and 49 seconds they have managed to erase every single positive memory that I have.

I simply cannot get over these inexplicably awful lyrics:

“One strike, two strikes swing away
A diving catch, a stolen base
A perfect game, a triple play
Another playoff race, YES!
World Series champs, we’ll be
Keep hoping and dreaming that you…will…soar!”

When news of the Scott Stapp anthem for the Marlins first broke, I had the same thought as everyone else: “This has to be a f**king joke.”

It was a joke. An unintentional one.
