Malaysian Cleric “Bans” Manchester United Red Devil Jerseys
Fans of the Manchester U Red Devils that reside in the 011-60 are pissed!
Muslim clerics in Malaysia have declared the Red Devil logo to be unholy, thus banning them from being worn in the country. Muslim Malaysian fans of the Man U are extremely pissed about the threat to their rights — as well as wasted money on jerseys.
Read the comments below any one of these stories. They all need to calm down.
This is obviously more headline fodder than anything else. The cleric that said this, Nooh Gadot, is speaking like his opinion is God’s word. Malaysian Muslim clerics have already banned clothing with emblems that have an image of the Crucifix in them. That would include jerseys such as Brazil, Portugal, Barcelona and Serbia.
Think about that for a second. It’s considered unholy by some Malaysian Muslim clerics to wear a Brazil jersey.
There are many other types of religions practiced in Malaysia. They will not heed this “ban.”
Nor should Malaysian Muslims. The freedom to choose what you wear should be a basic human right. If you give that up, what’s next?
And doesn’t this dude have anything better to do? “Banning” a silly-looking-soccer-devil emblem has got to be the least of their worries.
