LeBron to Switch to #6 Next Year…For the Cavs!
LeBron has apparently submitted the paperwork to switch jersey numbers next season from his #23 to his number in the Olympics, #6.
He mentioned the switch a few months back when he thought every player should retire #23, but it is now official as James wants to show respect to his hero Michael Jordan.
In my opinion, the big news in this story is the fact that LeBron only has to submit paperwork to switch numbers if he plans on staying with the same team next year.
You hear that Cavs fans??!!
If he were to switch teams, he could choose whichever jersey number he wants, and no paperwork would be necessary.
Interesting, no?
Now of course this doesn’t guarantee that LeBron will be back in a Cavs uniform next year, but what would be the point in filling out the paperwork if he just planned on jumping ship once the season is over?
The only thing this does ensure is that he won’t be playing with these franchises, as the #6 is already retired.

I agree that it is good news for Cavalier fans that LeBron has filed paper work to have his number changed to 6 next year. Let's just hope that he has a little extra motivation to win a ring with MJs number. On the other hand the thing that makes me worried about LeBron thinking about changing his number is the fact that Miami is the only other team in the league besides Chicago to have the number 23 retired.
No way is LeBron staying in Cleveland. It's too cold. No one wants to live in cold weather. Plus LeBron wants to be around superstars like him. LA Clippers baby!
