LeBron James Reaches 15,000 Point Milestone, Youngest Ever

LeBron James soared past Kobe Bryant on Friday to become the youngest player to score 15,000 points. He did it last night in Chicago…could this be his next home?

LeBron broke Kobe’s mark by more than 2 years as he scored 29 points to lead the Cavaliers over the Bulls, 92-85. He reached the milestone in the opening minutes and closed the door on the Bulls in the closing minutes with 13 in the fourth quarter.

At only 25 years old, James was able to reach 15,000 in his 540th game. It took Kobe 657 games when he was 27.

“I was born with a God-given gift,” he said. “I take full advantage of it by being able to do what I do on the basketball court. Hopefully, I can continue to stay healthy, and hopefully, I’ll continue to break records.”

The big question looming over the NBA is what uniform LeBron will be wearing when he continues to break records and hit milestones. He can opt out of his contract at the conclusion of the season and would be the top attraction in a star-studded free-agent class.

If he does decide to leave Cleveland, the Bulls have enough cap room to offer him a mega-deal. Chicago was the capitol of the NBA when they had the greatest of all time in Michael Jordan. Now with the possibility of adding LeBron next year the Windy City can once again be excited.

Sitting at 15,026 career points and being in the early prime of his career, LeBron James is only scatching the surface on what should be a career of rewriting the record books.
