Kobayashi Arrested After Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest

Kobayashi Arrested After Nathans Hot Dog Eating ContestIn the aftermath of Joey Chestnuts’ 4th straight victory at the annual Nathan’s Hot Dog eating contest, former champ Takeru Kobayashi was arrested after jumping on stage, apparently causing somewhat of a s**tstorm.

Kobayashi, who was not participating in this years event due to a contract dispute, was still in attendance while the event took place. But after Chestnut destroyed the rest of the weak ass competition, the real action began to take place.

Kobayashi jumped on stage wearing a ‘Free Kobi’ t-shirt, and shortly thereafter was refusing to leave the stage and security had to drag him away. He was then charged with resisting arrest, trespass and obstructing governmental administration. Which almost sounds like they were preventing a terrorist attack or something.

The reasoning behind the contract dispute was due to Kobayashi not wanting to sign a contract with Major League Eating because he wanted to be able to compete in contests sanctioned by other groups. And you know there is something wrong with the world when f**king eating contests are sanctioned.

All of this is pretty unfortunate. If it weren’t for Kobayashi, I’m not sure this contest would be as large as it is today. The only reason people started really getting into this contest is because he was such a little guy demolishing dudes that were twice his size. Until Joey Chestnut came around, no one was even close to Kobayashi.

“I’m really hungry. I wanted to eat hot dogs,” said Kobayashi as he walked out of Brooklyn Criminal Court. Apparently, the bologna sandwich and glass of milk he got in lockdown just wasn’t enough for the former eating champ.
