KB’s March Madness Bracket Guide + Bonus College Girls Picture Gallery

Let the madness begin!  The best time in sports has finally arrived and it is time to fill out your brackets. 

While I have no sources or a plethora of stats at my disposal like ESPN’s experts do, I have watched a s**t-ton of basketball this year and am here to give you some information to take into consideration that I picked up on.  Let’s get right to it and check out the Midwest region.
 
To me, this is the most difficult division to be in.  For starters it has the best team in the country in Kansas who is going to be a match-up nightmare for anyone.  I was not sure who to call the best team in the country a couple weeks ago, but after watching Kansas dominate like they did; I will be penciling them all the way into the championship. 

Ohio State and Georgetown are also in this region and could give Kansas a run for their money to get that Final Four spot.

Oh, and don’t forget about Maryland, Tennessee, and Michigan State.  They could easily pull off some upsets that will have you wadding up your bracket and trashing it early. 

My upset pick for the first round is San Diego State over Tennessee.  The Aztecs finished the season strong, winning 13 of their last 16 games and the Mountain West Conference tourney.  Meanwhile, you never know what Tennessee team is going to show up.  The one that beat Kentucky by nine at home, or the one that just got completely embarrassed by Kentucky by 29 yesterday.

My eight vs. nine pick is going to UNLV.   The Rebels played well in a respectable Mountain West Conference, and even though it was the first game of the season, the fact that they beat Pittsburgh by 39 is nothing to look past.  Northern Iowa had a great record but looking through their schedule they really did not play anyone worth mentioning.
 
Kentucky received the number one seed in the East division and is going to get a test in the second game.  They will play the winner of the Texas/Wake forest game.  

Don’t forget Texas was 17-0 and the number one team in the country at one point this season.  While UK is insanely good, Texas could give them a scare. 

My final four participant from this division will be West Virginia.  I can see UK’s youth catching up with them and WVU pulling off the upset.  My upset comes from the 5/12 spot again.  Cornell is a very under rated team and I think the five seed for Temple is too high.
 
The West division has Syracuse as the team to beat.  I have been high on Syracuse all year, but their latest performances against Louisville and Georgetown has me worried. 

I really don’t see anyone in this division giving them too much of a problem except for Kansas State.  The Orange should cruise into the Final Four.  SHOULD is the key word. 

My upset pick goes to Minnesota over Xavier.  Yes, they just got embarrassed by Ohio State in the Big Ten championship, but playing four games in four days is grueling on a college team. 

I think Gonzaga’s offense will be too much for Florida State and will win the 8/9 matchup.
  
Finally the South division gets Duke as the number one seed. 

I think this seed should have gone to West Virginia but the selection committee did not want to piss off Dicky V. and put Duke there instead. 

I think Villanova is the best team in this division but keep an eye on Notre Dame and Baylor. 

I am not sure who to put in the Final Four out of this division but I am leaning towards Villanova. 

My upset pick is going to Sienna over Purdue.  Robbie Hummel’s injury has proven to be a major blow to the Boilermakers.  Purdue only scored 11 points in the first half against Minnesota on Saturday.  11 points! That’s not good. 

Sienna has some tourney experience and knows Purdue is hurting right now.  If they can shut down Johnson and Moore look for Sienna to ruin some brackets as well.
