Ok, so normally I don’t come on here griping about my favorite teams, or my favorite players, etc. I really try to keep things unbiased, although occasionally I do tend to toss an opinion out there referring to how s**tty all of my favorite teams are. But this time is different.
Joey Votto is getting f**ked. Period.
He is not only extremely deserving of a reserve role for the NL All Stars, but an argument could be made that he deserves to be the starter. Charlie Manuel, the Phillies coach whom I normally have a lot of respect for, dropped the ball big as s**t on this one. Not only does Votto have much visibly better stats than the other two 1B reservesfor the NL (Ryan Howard, Adrian Gonzales), but he is also the best player on a team that has 3 other reserve players that were chosen above him (Rolen, Phillips, Rhodes).
I’m not a f**kin idiot. I understand they pick based on position, and by all means, I am totally stoked that 3 other Reds players made the team. This kind of s**t doesn’t happen very often. But the fact that Votto was left off the team is a total disgrace. The whole All Star team voting process as a whole is completely screwed up in fact. Fans in larger markets are always going to have the most players, because frankly, they have more fans. It makes sense. And secondly, acting like coaches picking the reserves don’t have an unbiased opinion is absurd.
So please, let’s at least make one thing right with this whole f**ked up situation. Votto deserves to be an All Star, and you can help him out! Please, if you have any human decency, go here and vote for him to get the final NL All Star spot.
This way I can go back to being a prick, and stop crying about my own personal feelings. Thank you.
