I can still remember the humiliation Quinn experienced in 2007 — sitting in that green room for what felt like days, waiting for his name to be called.
It got to the point where Commissioner Goodell sent Quinn to a private room to try and help ease the misery. You know it’s bad if Ol’ Rog feels sorry for you.
Then to make matters even worse – he was drafted by the Cleveland Browns. Talk about a f**king nightmare.
It would appear that fellow ex-Irish QB Jimmy Clausen has learned from the desolation that was Quinn’s 2007 draft experience and has decided to decline an invitation to attend the Prime Time event in New York.
His reasoning behind not attending the event is that he would like to watch the draft with his Grandfather who is not able to travel. Not sure I’m buying that one.
Even though Clausen is touted much higher than Quinn was coming out of college, his position in the draft is not that much different than Quinn’s was in 2007.
He too is the 2nd rated QB in the draft (Russell/Quinn, Bradford/Clausen), and much like the 2007 draft, this year’s class is loaded with all kinds of extremely talented position players.
It could get especially bad if some teams don’t see much difference between Clausen and projected 2nd rounder Colt McCoy. Would it be worth the extra money?
Not that I think that Clausen will fall as far as Quinn did, but if for some reason he doesn’t get drafted by the #9 pick (Buffalo Bills), there is a possibility that his wait could be just as long as Quinn’s.
I have a feeling Clausen would just assume the Browns stay where they are. He’ll take the embarrassment of waiting if he has to.

I think jimmy will be able to avoid cleveland at 7. I can’t see them bringing in delhomme and wallace and drafting a qb, but they are the browns, so who knows.
Cute pictures. You wank to those at night?
