Even though he lost on Thursday, Jimmer Fredette is still probably the most beloved basketball player in the NCAA. People just can’t get enough of him.
The media loves his story, and how he got to where he is now.
Truly NBA scouts have to like this kid right? He can shoot lights out. He has intangibles such as his explosive, dynamite offensive prowess that has made him “Legendary” in the College world. He is a lovable guy — he’s college basketball’s version of Tim Tebow, minus the championships.
A kid with his talent who finishes their degree is very rare these days. Maybe Adrian Peterson should have stayed longer in school — he might know the definition of slavery.
Of course though, almost forgot Jimmer’s defense is completely non-existent. A 6-year-old could crawl past Jimmer and score. You get the idea.
This is where the love for Jimmer stops.
Jimmer’s seems to just not care about defense. Even Crybaby Bosh knows a thing or two about defense.
A personal NBA director stated, “I think he’s almost invisible defensively.”
“I watched Jackson Emery out there and he’s guarding like one and a half guys. I don’t think I’ve ever seen Fredette bend his knees at the defensive end.”
Ouch. I guess Jimmer shouldn’t even bother running to the defensive end of the court. This kid maybe the best pure scorer, but he is a huge liability on the defensive end.
His scouting report so far goes like this: “He has limited athleticism. He’s not the greatest ball handler, He’s just an OK passer, and he doesn’t play defense at all.”
In other words he is just another player who can shoot, literally that’s all he can do. Maybe he knows how to rap? He could kick rhymes with Ron Artest if all else fails.
Some NBA team will take a chance on him. Probably Utah. Why not?
For all the love and hype Jimmer has gotten this season, it finally feels like its time to bring it down a notch.
Everybody knows he’s just this year’s J.J. Redick, anyway.

dude is just another adam morrison, only without a dirty mustache … so he is pretty much old news already
Yeah, I would say he is more of an Adam Morrison. At least J. J. Redick is actually doing stuff. Have we even heard anything recently about Adam Morrison’s career?
You forgot that Jimmer is also coachable. He did what the coach told him to do and that is to shoot the ball. BYU couldn’t afford to lose him offensively so the coach had him back off on defense. Did you ever hear Rose complain about his defense, no because that’s what the coach wanted. Jimmer listens to the coach, he’s a team player, the team counts on him to come through, winning the game is more important to him than individual accolades. I think a lot of coaches would love to have Jimmer on their team just for the fact that he will listen to them.
