And I thought the Rookie that wrecked on the last lap of the Indy 500 was the definition of crashing and burning.
It’s been a long 6 months or so for Buckeye Nation, but alas, it would appear the downfall at Ohio State is going to happen sooner rather than later. Jim Tressel has decided to resign from his position as Head Coach at The Ohio State University.
We all knew the first 5 games were going to be rough with all of the Buckeye’s top players being suspended, but I’m pretty sure most Buckeye fans were still under the impression that another 10 win season was well within reach. Worse come to worse, they would be 4-1, then with Tressel and the starters coming back, it would be a quick road to another Big Ten title.
But now with news being reported this morning that Jim Tressel has decided to resign from OSU, a long ass year awaits Buckeye fans, especially with rumors that more is about to come down on the Big Ten’s top dogs.
And regardless of what all the dumb f**ks in the media say, this is a sad day.
Jim Tressel was more than a football coach to the people in Columbus. Yeah, he obviously made some mistakes, and maybe it’s the Buckeye fans fault that he was put up on this high of a pedestal. But when it comes to Ohio State fans and their football – all that matters is winning – at all costs, no matter who gets taken down along the way.
And that is the way it should be. If it were up to the people in Columbus, Tressel would still be the Head Coach. It’s the outside media outlets calling for Tressel’s job that have caused such a mass hysteria around college football.
Who the f**k mixes their morals with their desire to win? As a sports fan, I could give two s**ts what my head coach does in order to win, all that matters is the W.
And maybe that makes me a bad guy? Maybe Tressel is my perfect head coach?
And maybe that’s why it’s a sad day in Columbus.
