French soccer star Franck Ribery, has been formally charged with soliciting sex with a minor. Although Zahia is now 18 years old, she was not when they had sex.

Ribery reportedly flew her in for a birthday present to himself. Zahia says that he did not know that she was underrage and that they should not be punished.
Ribery faces up to three years in prison. However, according to French law, the player would have had to have known she was 17. This was not the case.
