Could we be seeing the next movie character in the line of sport’s movies done by Will Ferrell?
Billy Ray “Rojo” Johnson, a former Venezuelan pitching phenom who had just been released from jail for smuggling rare reptiles into the United States, made his pitching debut for AAA Round Rock Express, which is the AAA affiliate of the Houston Astros, and it took him exactly one pitch before his first ejection.
It was obviously all staged, but even as sick as I am of the sports movies that Will Ferrell continues to be in (Talladega Nights, Semi Pro, Blades of Glory), I can’t lie by saying I wasn’t a little bit excited to see Will Ferrell come out and do his thing. Any pitcher that likes to drink a beer during the game is OK by me.
And you can’t tell me that Ferrell wasn’t high when he thought of this character. I mean, a f**king Venezuelan pitching phenom busted for smuggling reptiles??!!
