I’m really not sure how I feel about this. I know how I feel about the other disgusting part of this story, but not this part. The part where Joe Pa either gets fired, or he stays and finishes out a career that should be ending in cheers rather than scandal.
But by the way Penn State fans gathered outside Paterno’s home this evening, it would appear their mind is made up on how they feel about their coach.
But for me, I’m just not sure. This whole things just reeks of something awful, and the optimist in me hopes that Joe Pa was in no way involved (more than what we already know anyway).
Regardless of how I feel, Penn Staters 0bviously still support him. But should they?

Agree with Greg. How can they support someone who’s role in this scandal is unclear? The fact that one has to be “brave” to post questioning support to a person who it seems at least indirectly allowed an atmosphere of child abuse to continue is, in itself, troubling. I too hope Paterno wasn’t more involved or didn’t know more. But based on what seems to be the truth….he should have made it his business to know more.
well, more info on the child sex ring sandusky was running via his “second mile” organization will come out soon, and these JoePa supporters will feel like compete idiots once it’s inevitable that he knew way more than what is currently suspected. It’s quite obvious that the so-called “rich donors” who sandusky was pimping children out to had a hand in making the judge set the bail so low for him (a measly $100k when it should have been minimally $500k).
