As I patiently wait for the greatest sports season of the year to come, I need something to keep me busy and give me a little fix.
I figured there was no better way to do this than play a s**t-ton of NCAA College Football 11.
We’ve already given you the JOCKpost Writers’ Picks, but now it’s time to see what the world’s most popular college football game thinks.
Last month EA released their season simulation results, which resulted in Ohio State defeating Alabama to win the National Championship. I decided to take this simulation idea 25 steps further to see how consistent the game really is.
Rather than just do one sim and write about what happened, why not run 25 simulated seasons (I have a lot of time on my hands, don’t judge me) and show the percentages of how the season could turn out?
In the charts below I have included the percentage of times a particular team was conference champions from each Division I conference. Yes, Sunbelt, MAC, and CUSA fans, I’ve included you too. I also included the percentages for National Championship winners.
In the next couple days I am also going to post the simulation results for the Heisman Trophy winner. It really deserves it’s own post.
Hope you like pie charts!

I know Navy puts their pants on one leg at a time, but 65-35?!?! Gimme a f**kin break!!
Not that anyone cares about the Conference USA , butn Southern Missouri should be Southern Mississippi. We do not feel like creating a new pie chart for an irrelevant conference, my apologies.
I s**t myself.
Middle Tenn St. is an actual program??? EA is going to nail this prediction too, Buckeyes getting it done in January!
Iowa at 4% same as Michigan? What math are you using? Ever hear of a team called Penn State.
Big X corrected order – OSU, Iowa, Penn State, then Wisconsin.
I believe it’s is called basic mathematics or elemntary math. they simmed the season 25 times, Michigan won it once which = 4%. Penn State is garbage by the way, although I do hope they beat Bama.
Hey Mike, you are a retard. He wasn’t using math he was using a video game to simulate them. Grats on not being able to read, you should fix that ASAP. Since you can’t read you are probably in the SEC I’m guessing.
Dude, its a video game simulation. Settle down. Apparently, EA Sports doesn’t think Penn State’s all that.
How can USC have a 4% chance of winning if they are riding a post-season ban? Your datas is broken.
they probably felt sorry for USC’s pathetic program and gave them some glimmer of hope, they can’t win in real life, but they can on a video game.
Well no, the point is, a two-year bowl ban has been imposed on USC by the NCAA, so there is statistically no way they can have anything but a 0% chance at a national title until January 2013, even if they caputure the conference championship. Obviously there’s not any way of telling the Xbox game this, so the entire simulation (and, in turn, this article) is utterly flawed.
dude, they still have to play games competitively . there is no way to tell the game of a bowl ban, but it’s not like you just elminate usc from the pac 10. they still play games to beat washington, stanford, oregon etc. they can still win the pac-10. just eliminate them from any bowl appearances.
Yeah, thats right, The Dubz’! Badgers all the way!
But USC cannot be conference Champions. The sports blogging on this site is a joke. I am pretty sure its done be jv high schoolers in between tokes.
