Derek Anderson Rips Browns Fans After Release, Then Apologizes

Former Browns QB Derek Anderson is still feeling the sting after being released by Cleveland on Tuesday. While being released by the team with the worst options at QB in the NFL shouldn’t have been a surprise, it still had to feel like a kick to the nuts for DA, and it obviously showed.

“The fans are ruthless and don’t deserve a winner,” Anderson wrote Tuesday in an e-mail after being released. “I will never forget getting cheered when I was injured.

C’mon Derek. That excuse for sucking has already been used before.

God forbid the Browns get to see a QB that even resembles someone that knows what he is doing. I mean seriously, in 7 starts last year his stat line was 81-182 (44.5%), 888 yards, 3 TD, and 10 INT!! That is beyond fucking miserable.

But at least he had the balls to stand up for himself, and that, I can somewhat respect.

Until you go and back-off from your previous statement.

“I said some things to [News-Herald reporter] Jeff Schudel earlier that I regret,” Anderson said. “Those of you who got to know me personally from covering the Browns over the past five years, know this was out of character for me. I wasn’t taken out of context, but I was speaking out of frustration after my career with the Browns came to a close.

Sounds to me Derek, that you are apologizing to the media members that covered you during your years with the Browns, not the Browns fans that you thought, “did not deserve a winner”.

So as a Browns fan who did not cheer when you got injured…Take your apology, and shove it up your ass.
