You’re always told that when the cops ask if they can search your vehicle you say “no.”
It is a basic human right that many people do not exercise. Usually it is out of fear of retaliation.
Arizona Cardinals DE Darnell Dockett exercised that right, and the cops didn’t like it much. Fortunately for our entertainment, Dockett live-tweeted the entire thing.
He was pulled over for speeding — which Dockett denied — and his refusal to allow the search prompted the fuzz to call for backup. Dockett hilariously quipped: “You wanna use my phone?”
Probably not the best time to be a smart ass, but whatever.
The best part? After stubbornly waiting for an hour, Dockett was set free, sans ticket and vehicle search.
Just goes to show you, you can tell these bastards no and get away with it every now and then.
