Are you kidding me? You better be f**king kidding me. This has to just be some stupid rumor. It has to be. I really I don’t think I could take it if Carmelo Anthony somehow ended up on the Lakers. As a fan whose team is currently experiencing the longest losing streak in NBA history, a Carmelo-Kobe combination might just make my head explode.
According to stupid f**king “sources”, the Lakers and Nuggets are potentially in talks to send Carmelo to the Lakers in return for Andrew Bynum. A move that would easily put the Lakers as the favorite to win their 3rd straight NBA title. In fact, we might not even have to play the rest of the season. Now I know what Billy Madison felt like in his 2nd grade spelling bee. I mean, bath? Really?
Financially this move makes sense for both sides, as the Nuggets would have no problem taking on Bynum’s contract with only 2 years remaining (2nd year is a team option), and the Lakers would have zero issues signing Carmelo to a long term extension – assuming he agrees.
But I really just don’t see this happening. After losing Carmelo – whether it be this year or this summer – the Nuggets are going to be one of the most irrelevant teams in the NBA. They will need something much more than Andrew Bynum if they don’t want to be on the same level as some of the other (cough, cough) contraction level teams (It will happen).
In other NBA news, LeBron is still a humongous douchebag.
