Canadian Post Office Loses $5,000 Worth Of Hockey Cards
Canadian collector Joe Yetman sent his latest eBay sale to Ontario insured and registered. Good thing too, because this time he had to cash in.
Genevieve Latour, Canada Post spokeswoman, said postal inspectors determined the barcode had been registered for shipment, but vanished from the system after that.
“We’ve done everything we could. It’s nowhere to be found,” Latour said.
Yetman also put up a $2,500 reward in hopes of actually catching the thief.
Since I do a fair amount of baseball card buying and selling online, this story especially caught my eye. This should serve as a reminder to all shipping high end stuff: Buy that insurance!
