One day after being reinstated by Commissioner Roger Goodell, the Cleveland Browns cut troubled wide receiver Donte Stallworth, another in the long line of high priced free agents that didn’t contribute to the team.
As many of you recall, Stallworth was suspended for the entire 2009 season due to a DUI manslaughter conviction. Yesterday at Goodell’s State of the NFL speech, he reinstated Stallworth back into the NFL.
The Browns apparently were not interested. He was due a roster bonus of $1 million on March 20. It is unclear whether the Browns cut him because of the incident, or because they did not feel he could contribute to the team’s success this year.
