The Browns prove there are 7 million reasons to sign a quarterback coming off an 18 interception season. It looks as if the trend of starting 8 different QB’s on opening week since 1999 is something Cleveland is proud of.
Jake Delhomme is fresh off his worst season as a pro, and at 35 years old, is he the solution to Cleveland’s quarterback merry-go-round?
Delhomme signed a 2 year deal that includes 7 million this season from Cleveland and 12.7 million from Carolina. 19.7 million to a washed up 35 year old who likes to throw to the other team???
Mike Holmgren must be enjoying that Cleveland lager a little too much.
Delhomme is expected to compete with Mr. Bust, Brady Quinn, and the recently signed Seneca Wallace for the starting job.
That’s like choosing who you’re going to date between Janet Reno, Whoopi Goldberg, and Jabba the Hut.
Eric Mangini has to be contemplating putting in his resignation or suicide at this point.
On a lighter note, Delhomme is a career 58-40 as a starter and led Carolina to it’s only Super Bowl in 2003. He was once a consistent performer on some good Carolina teams, but let’s face it, his best years are behind him and Cleveland is scraping the bottom of the barrel to fix their quarterback woes.
Most NFL teams try to end downward spirals by signing players that aren’t in a downward spiral themselves. But hey, you know what? Cleveland’s offense should make their defense look damn good in training camp!

As a Panthers fan, I had mixed feelings about Delhomme leaving. He has done so much for our team, but it just wasn't the same. He seemed to be completely baffled more often than not and his abilities have been decreasing steadily since a few years ago.
Good luck to him but I think Cleveland is where quarterbacks go to die.
I am not a fan of this signing…I would have just assumed we go with Seneca Wallace to start at QB this year, but at least Delhomme gives us a CHANCE to score unlike Quinn or Anderson. I just don't think he is worth the $$ we are giving him.
