Brandon Phillips on the Cardinals, “They’re Little Bitches”
To say it politely, the St. Louis Cardinals have had the Cincinnati Reds number over the last decade or so. Normally, while the Cardinals are playing meaningful games in the months of August and September, the Reds are usually looking around the locker room to see who the latest trade victim will be.
Well in 2010, the Reds have played as if they are a team that is ready to take the next step, possibly even overtaking the Cardinals for the NL Central. And even though the Reds haven’t made the playoffs in 15 years, the confidence these players are s**tting out resembles that of a team who has been doing this for years.
Not only did Joey Votto have some words for the Chicago Cubs during the all-star break, but Brandon Phillips has decided to jump in on the fun, only this time aiming at those “bitches” in St. Louis.
“I’d play against these guys with one leg. We have to beat these guys. I hate the Cardinals. All they do is bitch and moan about everything, all of them, they’re little bitches, all of ‘em. I really hate the Cardinals. Compared to the Cardinals, I love the Chicago Cubs. Let me make this clear – I hate the Cardinals.”
Attaboy Brandon – not only has B. Phillips proved to me in person that he is one cool motherf**ker, but showing the fans that he is just as passionate as them makes me want to cheer for him even more. F**k the Cardinals. They are little bitches, especially their manager Tony La Russa. He might be one of the best strategic managers in the game, but he does complain a lot. Even his response to Phillips was that of a little bitch.
“I don’t think that will go over well in his own clubhouse. Phillips is ripping his teammates – Scott Rolen, Miguel Cairo, Russ Springer, Jim Edmonds – all the ex-Cardinals over there. He isn’t talking about this year. He is talking about the way we’ve always played and those guys are old Cardinals. Tell him he’s ripping his own teammates because they are all old Cardinals.”
Yeah Tony, I’m sure that is exactly what his current teammates will be thinking. Rolen and Cairo have said a total of 5 words all season, so I seriously doubt those are the players he is referring to. And Russ Springer, Jim Edmonds? They have been with the Reds for how long?
This should be a fun next couple months of baseball…

Gotta love BP for keeping it real, as always. the Cards are a bunch of bitchers and whiners, last time they were in they complained about the balls being to smooth. give me a break.
Keepng it “real”? Har dee har har. The Reds get beat and they resort to name calling instead of letting their play speak. Oh yeah. Their play spoke volumes tonight. I liked seeing their starting pitcher kicking and screaming when forced to the backstop by his own players.
Did Carpenter kick?
If you can’t play with the other profesionals go back to the minor leagues instead of name calling. What Molina did tonight was call it they way it was perceived by many others. Call people a #&*@> what do you expect?

Good for Phillips. He’s good enough to go 1 for 13 in the series. Hope he’s dumb enough to create bulletin board material for the Birds in September. What a f**king professional. We’ll mail him a post card from the world series. Even the Reds television announcers are classless. Better luck next year. One good season and the Refs think they’re the Yankees or Cardinals? Give me a f**king break.
How do I defend Carpenter? Because he does his talking ON the field. So Carpenter is ready to throw the first pitch and his shortstop calls time because he doesn’t have the corrct glove! If I was a professional anything and I was ready to do my job and someone doesn’t have the right equipment to help the team, you damn right I would call that person on it! Even on the field!
I’m so tired of St. Louis fair weather fans. You don’t like them when they are down, you don’t deserve to follow them when they have the division locked up by Labor Day.
