Bears Fan Defends NFL Rules, Bashes Megatron

Surprise, surprise!  We have a die-hard Bears fan chiming in on his interpretation of what happened Sunday against the Lions.

You know, the one where everyone and their mom called for the heads of NFL officials who seem to think that you need two hands, a butt, two feet, a knee and your f**king head on the ground for a catch to be ruled a catch.

Then the smug-as-ever former NFL head of officials, Mike Pereira, claims that he is “pleased” with the way the call was handled.  He’s pretty much the only one — him and this Bears fan.

Without further delay, we present to you, the other side.

Calvin Johnson No-Catch is Calvin Johnson’s Fault

Calvin Johnson is a Pro Bowl wide receiver. This leads me to believe he knows a lot about catching a football. Particularly the definition of catching the football. Like, ya know, the goal being to maintain possession. Preferably with both hands. Johnson proved me wrong, and he learned a costly mistake Sunday in Chicago.

Popular opinion says this rule should be changed. Popular opinion can kiss my ass. The Bert Emanuel Rule eliminates many more problems than it causes. And Megatron would have eliminated all of this (unnecessary) trouble if he wasn’t trying to be a f**king hot-shot.

Every receiver in the league should know this rule. I know this f**king rule, and I don’t make $5 million/year to catch footballs. If he puts two hands on the ball, which he EASILY could have done, the Lions win their first road game in 20 some tries.

INSTEAD, he did the Detroit Lion thing, and put the ball on the ground before it was ruled a touchdown. Wouldn’t you want to secure the ball with both hands in that situation? It’s ideal in every situation, but this one in particular? Rules is rules, Tron. This is yet another in the long line of reasons why every team in the league loves it when the Lions come to town.
