Arsenal mid-fielder Aaron Ramsey has been declared as the next victim of soccer’s horrifying leg injury meat grinder.
With about 35 minutes left in the match versus Stoke City, Ramsey challenged Ryan Shawcross for a loose ball. Ramsey’s leg lost.
I call BS on that. If a team has greater skill, how can you beat them at their own game? You have to try to rattle them with physicality — get them a little scared to challenge, make them think twice about going up for the header, etc.
Soccer is a physical game and injuries will occur. Arsenal’s coach was extremely upset at the style of play Stoke City employed and was not short on words after the match to express his feelings about the matter.
Arsenal’s manager, Arsène Wenger, was incensed. “I’m proud of my team and we showed that we are very strong mentally,” he said, “but I’m very sad and this is a victory I cannot enjoy.
Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas referred to similar injuries suffered by Eduardo and Abou Diaby. “You could say we are not protected enough,” he said. “Three times in five years is a little bit too much.”
Hey guys, how about getting players with stockier, stronger builds? All of these injuries have occured to leaner, longer players.
Either way, you probably shoudn’t eat while watching this.► Read more articles written by Jp14.
