Is Amar’e Jealous of LeBron?

In an interview with Fanhouse, Suns forward Amar’e Stoudemire had a few choice words that makes it seem he is a bit jealous of NBA Superstar LeBron James.
When asked about how Stoudemire’s status as an NBA elite compares to LeBron, he wasn’t shy in comparing how closely their two careers began, and how Stoudemire feels he is a tad overlooked.
“I definitely [get overlooked],” Stoudemire said. “That year it was tough going against Yao Ming as far as Rookie of the Year, and I was able to win that award. Sometimes you get lost in the shuffle when the year after such great players as Carmelo [Anthony of Denver], Dwayne [Wade of Miami] and Lebron came in. I think I did get overlooked a little.”
A little?
Amar’e, most people feel you are a great NBA player, but there has always been a
beef against your durability and your lack of defense. LeBron is an all around unbelievable player, and regardless of the fact that you were the first straight from High School player to win Rookie of the Year honors, you will always be a second teir superstar compared to LeBron.
So instead of complaining that you get overlooked by LeBron, why not come out and say you are proud to be one of only two people to EVER be named ROY straight out of high school?
Being in the same category as LeBron is a pretty awesome accomplishment, but pouting and going against LeBron is a battle you will NEVER win.
So much for all the rumors of Amar’e being traded to the Cavs.
