Terrelle Pryor was named the 2010 Rose Bowl MVP. He passed for 266 yards and rushed for 72 yards. He played a great game, kept his head in the game and never lost his cool.
Jim Tressel wins the first Rose Bowl of his career and does a good job in shaking his last three straight BCS game flops. The Buckeyes played hard and agressively, surprising many people watching who thought OSU could not keep up with Oregon’s high powered offense.
This should keep OSU fans happy for the rest of the winter. This is the kind of game the Buckeyes needed to begin to shake the national perception that they can not win “the big game.”
The Big Ten has been doing very well in this year’s bowl games with Wisconsin beating Miami and Penn State beating LSU. The Big Ten’s two bowl losses so far this year has Northwestern, not known for its football supremacy, losing to the mighty SEC’s Auburn in overtime and Minnesota’s one point loss to Iowa State, in a game of .500 teams that never should have been played.
That’s a far cry from last year’s 1-6 showing in bowl games.
