The 1st round of the 2010 NFL draft and it’s new Prime Time showing had a few bumps along the way, but all and all would have to be reviewed as a success for ESPN.
There were just a few minor glitches that they probably need to work on – Chris Berman insisting on always being a dick (See video below), Steve Young and Tom Jackson constantly interrupting each other, and Mel Kiper, you know, the guy that we have to listen to everyday since the college football season was over, said about 10 words the entire night.
Jon Gruden was actually the only draft analyst that didn’t get on my nerves at one point or another. Even though all he did was suck the dick of every guy that was drafted, metaphorically speaking of course, he still stood out as being the guy that sounded like he knew what he was talking about (Or maybe I was just drunk).
The biggest surprises of the 1st round from a player standpoint had to be the Broncos pick of Tebow, and the fall of yet another Notre Dame QB, Jimmy Clausen (Not Clawesome). Dez Bryant was also a surprise as his off the field drama had him fall to the Dallas Cowboys, which in my opinion was the biggest steal of the draft. This guy is going to be a beast.
But to recap the 1st round of the draft, the biggest surprise was the fact that all of these humongous dudes that kick the s**t out of each other every weekend, cried almost every single time their names were called. I actually started to lose count of how many of them were shedding tears as they received the most important phone call of their life.
Except for Joe Haden. You know those were sad tears.
