2010 NCAA Tournament Predictions, Round Two, South Region

#1 Duke vs #8 California
Cal surprised me a lot by easily dispatching of Louisville 77-62. In spite of only having two teams in the tourney, the Pac-10 has been represented well.  However, Cal’s run will end here.  Duke wins, but Cal gives them a good running.

#5 Texas A&M vs #4 Purdue
Purdue sucked it up and played tough against Siena, but Texas A&M has athletes that are on a completely different level.  With Purdue not being at full strength, they won’t be able to overwhelm the Aggies with pure athleticism.  I’m riding the A&M train.

#11 Old Dominion vs #3 Baylor
Unfortunately for ODU, their win against Notre Dame says more about the Irish than it does Old Diminion. Baylor is a fast paced, very athletic team, that will be able to outrun ODU.  Baylor wins this one.

#10 St. Mary’s vs #2 Villanova
St. Mary’s did not disappoint against a very good Richmond team and they will continue this run against a very incosistent and rickety Villanova team.  Omar Sanham is a monster inside and while Villanova will fight to the end, their luck has run out.  St. Mary’s wins this one in a nail biter.
