2010 College Football Pre Season Top 25 Rankings By SN

It’s never too early to start talking about college football. With a little over a month until the best time of the year occurs, Sporting News has released their preseason Top 100  rankings. It is definitely going to be an interesting year in college football with teams adding better non-conference opponents and adjusting to their new impact players. Besides Alabama there is no clear-cut dominant team, which is bound to result in BCS mayhem by season’s end.

Right away two teams jump out at me as being extremely overrated. I somewhat understand Boise State being third considering they have compiled a record of 36-4 in the last three seasons, and finally play some quality non-conference opponents this year in Virginia Tech and Oregon State.

The team that baffles me is Miami at #4. Who’s dick did they suck to get into the preseason top 5? They finished the season 9-4 after losing to a mediocre Wisconsin team in the Citrus Bowl and made a few significant recruiting additions, but fourth?

They do have a Heisman hopeful in Jacory Harris and if they can pull off a big win in Columbus, THEN Hurricane fans can begin to get excited. But let’s not forget how over-hyped this team became last year at the beginning of the season and s**t the bed at the end.

Of course these two teams are not the only ones that have people thinking. There are so many questions that will be asked leading up to the season opener.

How will Urban Meyer and Gator Nation survive without Tim Tebow?
Will Texas and Oklahoma stay in the top 10 without McCoy and Bradford?
Will USC even try with an asshole head coach and a two year suspension?
How many more Oregon players will be arrested and kicked off the team?
Will we actually have to worry about Boise State playing for the National Championship?
Will Brian Kelly return Notre Dame to respectability?
Will Michigan play well enough to even attract 4,000 more people to fill the new seats that were just installed?

Not that these rankings mean s**t right now, but here is their Top 25:

1. Alabama
2. Ohio State
3. Boise State
4. Miami
5. Florida
6. TCU
7. Nebraska
