11 Notre Dame Players Arrested For Underage Drinking
According to the Associated Press, 11 athletes at Notre Dame were arrested Friday night and are being charged with misdemeanor drinking charges. The most notable of the players arrested was the son of HOF Quarterback Joe Montana.
Nate Montana, who is currently listed as 2nd on the depth chart at QB, is just one of the 44 people that were arrested at a party where two other non-athletes are being charged with providing alcohol to minors. You know, because it is unheard of for anyone under 21 to possibly be able to obtain alcohol.
The other Notre Dame football players that were arrested are wide receivers Robbie Toma and Tai-ler Jones, linebacker Steve Filer, kicker Nick Tausch, cornerback Lo Wood, and offensive linemen Chris Watt and Tate Nichols. From the basketball team, there was Tim Abromaitis, the second leading scorer on the Irish basketball team along with incoming freshman point guard Eric Atkins. There was also incoming hockey goalie Steven Summerhays.
Needless to say, this is not a great start for new head coach Brian Kelly. But on the other hand, maybe he is just trying to bring some of the Cincinnati flavor to South Bend?
